Human or Machine?

Spot the difference- I rescued the drawing on the left from my bonfire yesterday.
And the other is computer generated. (OK computer enhanced).

I ask this because I have just read online that Christie's auction house
will be selling the first AI generated portrait next month.

And it is expected to bring in between $7,000 and $10,000.

And it’s now thought that the next big breakthrough in art will be through AI.

Ahmed Elgammal, director of the Art and Artificial Intelligence Lab at Rutgers University said:

“You could say that at this point it is a collaboration between two artists — one human, one a machine. And that leads me to think about the future in which AI will become a new medium for art.’

Simon Schama said that the last human activity to be handed to the machines would be creativity.

Well, that day may be closer than we think.
