Pussy Riot

We could have a conversation, if you like, about Pussy Riot.

I’d be more than happy to discuss whether this was gig / art / performance or any combination of the three, or none of them. I’d be happy to talk about whether their invasion of the World Cup stage was a good idea or not. Same goes for the invasion of Moscow’s Cathedral of Christ the Saviour and the subsequent prison time.

One thing I do know, however, is this band has principles with which I mostly agree and it sticks up for them.

Standing in front of Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Maria Alyokhina tonight was a privilege and they absolutely smashed it. Superb. And they’ll probably be arrested when they get home. Massive respect.
