Flying Lessons

After a routine hospital appointment this morning, I thought I'd have a short trip out this afternoon for a bit of fresh air. First of all, I was surprised to see a Redstart, then further along my route I saw no fewer than 4 Kestrels and 2 Buzzards hunting over the same edge. I think the Kestrels were a family group and I was lucky to catch this youngster in a rowan tree seeking a brief respite from the gusty wind. Their alternative name of Windhover seemed particularly apt today.
