Round Peg, Round Hole

As soon as I started drilling the first dog hole in the top of my mini-workbench, I realized I the hole was too large! I’d picked up a 7/8” drill bit instead of the 3/4” one.

What to do? Simple — plug the hole with a piece of dowel, trim it flush when the glue dries, and drill a new hole. I didn’t have any 7/8’ dowel, but I did have some 1”, so I had to enlarge the hole to 1” before plugging it. 


I think the end result looks quite decorative (extra).
