Uwchben ac isod ~ Above and below

We are caught in a traffic jam of discursive thought.
-- Chogyam Trungpa

Jyst i fod gwrthwyneb es i i'r gwaith trwy'r llwybr cyflymach ond stopiais i o dan y drosffordd am funud i drio gwerthfawrogi'r olygfa.  Rydw i'n cofio'r ardal cyn cafodd y gyfnewidfa ei adeiladu.  Roedd cymuned yna gyda siopau, caffi a llyfrgell hefyd. Gallech chi gerdded o un lle i'r arall ar hyd ffordd dawel dros y bont rheilffordd. Rydw i'n cofio teimlo cyffrous am y gwaith adeiladu ond trist am y llyfrgell.  Nawr mae'n ddim ond cof, a rhaid i mi ddweud, y cyfan oedd camgymeriad.  Mae gormod o draffig yn mynd i lawr y ffordd, felly, ar ôl y gwaith i gyd, a dinistr y gymuned, rydyn ni'n yn ôl ar y dechrau. Rydw i'n swnio fel hen ddyn yn atgoffa am y gorffennol.  Efallai rydw i.

Yfory bydda i'n mynd i'r gwaith trwy'r parc. mae'n haws gwerthfawrogi'r byd naturiol yno

Just to be contrary I went to work via  the faster route but I stopped under the flyover for a minute to try to appreciate the scene. I remember the area before the interchange was built. There was a community there with shops, a café and a library also. You could walk from one place to the other along a quiet road over the railway bridge. I recall feeling excited about the construction work but sad about the library. Now it's just a memory, and I have to say, it was all a mistake. There is too much traffic going down the road, so, after all the work, and the destruction of the community, we're back at the beginning. I sound like an old man reminiscing about the past. Maybe I am.

Tomorrow I'll go to work through the park. it's easier to appreciate the natural world there.
