If you can't beat them...

Romneya coulteri

A wet day without much going on.  As usual I spent the afternoon & early evening with Kanyl.  Usually we potter about in the garden but not today too wet.

Blipping subjects were in short supply so in a drier spell I had a look round for subjects.  The Romneya coulteri is still in flower.  I have often taken shots but not recently used one so this is my choice.

Romneya coulteri also known as California Tree Poppy, is as the name suggests native to California.  It may reach 2 m in height although Kanyl's is nearer 1.5 m.  Named after Thomas Coulter an Irish botanist it is actually a member of the poppy family if more than a little atypical.
