HORTUS BOTANICUS

We went today to Leiden, to the Hortus Botanicus, and in the Victoria greenhouse we saw many butterflies of the kind as in my photo.
We met with a dear friend, (our friendship has lasted a bit less than 50 years there. She lives in Ouddam a village situated north of Amsterdam.
The last time we had made an appointment to meet, the terrible storm prevented our rail travel to her home. So you can imagine that we were so happy to meet.
She studied biology and was very much at home in the Hortus.
And Piet Hein and I loved to walk there too.
We had a lot to talk about, visited the greenhouses, walked all the little paths in the garden, and when we left the Hortus we searched for a place for lunch.
We found it at the rear end of the Van der Werff park. Walking to there we looked around all the time, and found memories, and new sights as well.
After lunch we walked the streets we knew from the old times, looked at the place where Piet Hein and I had lived for 10 years, and then walked Soemini to the place where she had parked her car. We left her there and walked to the Railway station, for our travel home.
A wonderful and happy day. Knowing that we want to meet again.

My guidebook of insects is in Germany, so I have to leave it uncertain what the name of the butterfly is.

Tomorrow Saturday the 25th of August again a Silly Saturday Challenge.
The tag is #SilS99, or #SillySaturday99, and #SillySaturday will do too.
Of course I look foreward to see the silly images.
