Arrest This Moment

Went to the Edinburgh Book Festival this afternoon to hear James Robertson, Sheena Wellington, Calum Colvin and Gordon MacLean discuss Robertson's biography of Michael Marra.  They were all friends and collaborators of 'The Bard of Dundee.' Their affection for him was palpable, and the audience  - the tent was packed - clearly felt the same.
I don't think many people outside Scotland will have heard of him, sadly.  He was a very modest man.

Calum Colvin painted the portrait of Marra, which is on the cover of the book. The picture was displayed on the stage. Colvin said he's not bothered about copyright issues, he just wants Marra to be remembered and more widely known.  Afterwards, a fair number of people, like me, were taking him at his word and taking pictures of the picture.

The spotlights were reflecting on the glass and  this was the best I could do.  But I wanted it to be today's blip.  I think the title of Robertson's book makes quite a good strap-line for Blipfoto - 'Arrest This Moment'.
