If you can't beat them...

Cyclamen hederifolium

Another Saturday prepping the Lodge.  Made a little more fraught by needing to do a couple of jobs getting ready to go to set up Keswick show tomorrow, coupled with some traffic chaos owning to a lorry spilling its load.  As it turned out I made a long detour to avoid chaos which didn't seem to happen.

Yet another day of desperately looking for something to blip.  When we took the Lodge Kanyl gave us Ivy-leaved Cyclamen from his garden.  We planted them among the "rocks" below the veranda.  They flourished and are still doing well.  The blip is of some that have self seeded in the crack between the tarmac & the rocks.

Being native to Southern Europe & Turkey the south facing well drained position seems to suit them with just the little shade from the veranda.  The veranda seems to provide enough shelter so they are very happy.
