Shiojiri

Went on a day trip to Narai-juku, a historical small town that was one of many inn towns located between Tokyo and Kyoto, flourished with travelers in the Edo era (1603-1868). In the present day the town is part of the city of Shiojiri, Nagano prefecture, and is well preserved by the government.

Arriving at Shiojiri Station I captured this bus stop sign that contained the name of the city. The city is one of the largest wine growing areas in Japan, having many wineries around, which may be reflected in the sign.
