Drenched in Derbyshire

As the forecast predicted rain all day , we swerved walking and headed to Chatsworth. Neither of us had been inside although I visited the grounds last year. What a magnificent place. Such an amazing wealth of treasures- beautiful rooms filled with paintings , furniture, sculpture, antiques contrasted against the current duke’s contemporary collection such as Damien Hirst’s St Bartholomew: Exquisite pain. We got soaked outside, hopelessly lost in the maze and got to try virtual reality goggles. Fun!
