Many coloured pigeons have recently taken up residence in The Royal Mile, including on ledges around St Giles but I expect they will soon disappear.  This weekend the Edinburgh Fringe Festival comes to an end and the roads will be relatively quiet when the street entertainers and performers depart. (extra) There has been something for all tastes from the serious to the quirky and venues ranging from the streets, theatres to pubs and even a chicken coop.  One strange ‘theatre’ was made of 55 upturned old pianos (extra)  I have laughed in some shows and learnt in others and today really enjoyed the Modern Maori Quartet who presented a humorous musical show with a message. They do their last show tomorrow afternoon and are well worth seeing.
