I've been seeing quite a few of these around lately. This one at a local percolation pond near Los Gatos. Probably a young female. I caught a long telephoto shot of a male (mates?) on another pond nearby catching a frog - unfortunately, the stabilization wasn't working well and the contrast is poor as well. Not a usable photo, but I saw what happened in the viewfinder. Sometimes that's all you get.
