Curious cutlery

I awake in a spare tent. It’s raining. There are ‘croissants’ hot from the oven. There are six cans of Stella cooling on the counter - Owen hid them in the oven last night and forgot where they were. The croissant crew cranked the oven to 200C without looking inside creating a new delicacy: Artois Au Four.

The living room is full of youth - most of my generation is still in a state of repose. I bumble around, tidying up. It’s not too bad and the rain is reasonably light. Some of the cakes are damper than they were designed to be.

People wake, coalesce, talk, depart. There’s lamb curry for lunch. Washing up. Hoovering.

Dave’s van is stuck in the same mud as last time. Jax applies her van/mud expertise and five of us rock and push the van to safety. I am splattered.

By early afternoon there’s only Owen, Jax, Nick, and Noel left. Nick decides to leave the yurt up until next weekend, freeing up his departure with Noel. Owen and Angus watch movies: 101 Reykjavik, Into The Wild, MIB 2.

Jax leaves halfway through Into The Wild to joust with the A9. Claire bails during MIB. By 10 it’s lights out.
