Reach for the sky

The days seem so short and the light is very dull today. So, as I was cutting back all the dead plants I thought that I would blip this elegant fennel seed head as it reaches towards the light - before I cut it down. Earlier we had the most beautiful Nuthatch in the garden feeding on the sunflower seeds - it was far too fast for me to capture it on my camera though. We keep seeing him so maybe I will have better luck tomorrow.
