End of an era
So Esther got back from the Childminder’s an hour ago and I’m a blubbering mess. It’s Esther’s last day at Jackie’s after a year an and half. She’s retiring.
Esther’s lost another maturer lady out of her life. Not that she ever replaced Mum but it was nice to have someone who I could ask for advice about the girls when needed. I know I have my sister and I need to get a grip. I also need to appreciate having Janet around more too. I truly believe kids get a lot from seeing their grandparents, and I don’t just mean ice cream!
I’m also losing my one day a week of sanity caring for just one child.
Reasons to be cheerful:
Esther spending her first two years with a lovely lady once a week, not forgetting her friends Olly and Brona.
Oh and the gorgeous Paddington book, Jackie gave her as a gift.
Oh and Esther’s just decided she likes lettuce!
Oh and I made £120 in my first month of Grandad’s Attic.
