Special Slices

We think we’re smiling...

Believe it or not we are so stuffed at this point we can barely focus. Not sure how we rolled back to the hotel but we did and now we can just lie and try and digest the most fabulous meal we have had here. Can’t recommend Semprionana enough should you find yourself in Barcelona.

I’ll try to not distract my body too much from the very important task of digesting to remember what we did before dinner took hold...

Big walk down La Rambla to the harbour and the Columbus Monument where I mainly learned that Anna thinks he is a complete fraud. Along the harbour and back through the windy alleys and medieval and Roman ramparts of the Gothic Quarter. Really interesting part of the City I would like to explore more with guide next time. Hot and starting to tire we decided to hunt down Chocolate Bresco for both refreshments and purchasing. Melindros for there and to take back and a restrained chocolate assortment for home.

We wanted to go for two reasons - it is the chocolate shop of the family of our guide yesterday and also it is in Casa Calvet which is another Gaudi house so a free way to see a bonus one of those. One of the specialisms of our guide seemed to be free ways to see Gaudi. His best recommendation we didn’t have time for so is also added to the list for next time - the roof top bar at the Hotel Condes de Barcelona will apparently afford you views inside La Pedera.

Lunch and a long recovery siesta at the hotel. Did manage to make it to the rooftop bar of our hotel to admire the views and get trounced by Anna at military rummy.

Then a wander to the wonderful Semprionana...and the rest is a food induced coma haze...
