The Many Adventures of Minny Blipper

He thought he saw movement amongst the trees.  So he slipped away from the group, to have a closer look.

After the debacle of the plastic snake toy, he didn't want to look  foolish ..... again.  Especially in front of Marie.  He hadn't lost sight of wanting to impress the love if his life.

So he crept closer to the dark forest, and the beckoning gate.

He looked up - and into the blazing eyes of a .....  bear

Minny froze on the spot, completely forgetting any advice of dealing with a bear situation.  It was definitely much bigger than a koala.  Koalas he could cope with; brown bears he could not.  He was consumed with an undeniable urge to flee, and flee quickly.  The very last thing he wanted to do was take a photograph.  From somewhere in the depths of his mind he heard a small voice:

If you encounter a bear on the trail, or in your campsite, stop what you are doing and evaluate the situation. Identify yourself by speaking in a calm, appeasing tone. Back away slowly, preferably in the direction you came. Walk, don't run, and keep your eye on the bear so you can see how it will react.

So that's what he did.  Walking backwards, and desperately trying not to trip over anything, he went back to the trailer, and he saw all the others .......

(Join me same time, same place next week to see if Minny Blipper, Marie, Marianne, Michel, Monsieur le Chef and the dog called Mutt survive the bear attack)
