Dropping down to Field Head from Birker Fell

A great drive north west from Ulpha over the High moor (and another picnic meal with a view!)
Well deserved after being outward bound over shall we say "Exhilarating" Hard Knott Pass and down the Duddon Valley to Ulpha
First time for the new car over the pass, and my first time there in an automatic... much more of a relaxing drive!..
Incredibly I once long ago I got to the summit of  that pass on a Honda 50 Cub, without stopping but Pat had to get off and walk of course!
She was very quiet on the pillion  as we came down the other side.
And I was too occupied to hear her screams any way!
