Woodland Beauties

It was a lovely day, so a trip out for some fresh air was in order. I thought I would check out if there were any fungi around yet in my favourite woodland. It quickly became clear that there was nothing around, so I redirected my attention back to butterflies, of which there were quite a few around. I saw a Red Admiral and a Holly Blue, but apart from the ubiquitous whites, the most numerous were Speckled Woods. I managed a nice close-up, but this one with the autumn colours and sunlit illumination was my preferred shot . The other is relegated to extras.
