Another bike against the wall

There's a big event happening in the building this week. For several years Cambridge University Department of Geography has run a highly sought after Conservation Leadership MPhil course. Candidates are drawn from all corners of the globe and subsequently often return to work in their home countries, or get jobs in international organisations like ours. Some of my colleagues in the UK, Liberia, Uganda and other places are graduates of the course, as is the key government counterpart I'll work with in Mozambique.

The alumni have descended on the building for events that celebrate conservation and their achievements working within it. Lots of smartly dressed conservationists (a rare sight) dashed about preparing for presentations that David Attenborough was on hand to attend.

Those of us getting on with the day job continued to firefight contracts in Liberia and finances in Mozambique. At lunchtime Dan and I ate reduced price yum yums and chewed the fat.

Plus, we've already had the privilege of meeting David several times :)
