Capturing my Journey

Hands in pockets

Did not buy. So tempted they are gorgeous. Piglets too wee for the pens so were sold in a box that was wheeled into the ring. Cows sold not too bad really. I had to have a wee cry after they went through. Then it was a long wait for our sheep to go through. They sold very very poorly. Honestly someone paid more for an ice cream tub of marbles than our sheep! That's it though as of today we no longer rent a farm and no longer have breeding farm animals. We have 4 ancient Shetlands kept back for their retirement. Some fattening male sheep and 2 bullocks. Mixed emotions of sadness that it's all over and our animals are no longer ours and relief that we won't need to keep them fed during the winter after such a difficult year. Relief that we are truly free to enjoy our next chapter too.

My sister in law joined us for the day at the mart ( she lives nearby) it was nice spending the day with her. We were also joined by brother in law his partner and our niece towards the end of the sale. So we invited them all back to the farm for a cuppa tea. We also went to see the ponies.

My super duper sister kindly picked up a takeaway for us and dropped it off on her way to her night shift. We managed a yoga before dinner to wind down. Now it's thistly cross cider time.
