A pause in the wind

I woke just in time to get the extra for today at 0651; and to anticipate a sunny morning before driving back to Auckland for a father's day lunch with daughters and grandsons. The promise of a warm sunny morning was not kept, as the wind and rain intermittently discouraged outside activity.

An easy drive back to the city was abruptly turned into stop/creep forward a few metres/stop again. Just before joining the mass of cars a sign had informed us of an incident with lanes (plural) closed just before the Auckland Harbour Bridge. Still, we got back in time, and what we saw indicated work for the panelbeaters, rather than the paramedics.

Daughter J has a meeting this evening in the central city, so I offered to take her so she didn't have to find parking. As I was heading home again, I spotted a large convex circular mirror hanging above the narrow street I was driving along. It was turning and bouncing with the wind. There was just enough daylight left to get a decent photo.
