The Old Grammar School, Market Harborough

Benefactor Robert Smyth built the Grammar School (I suspect with a little help from local artisans and craftsmen) in 1614. It was built on stilts to provide a space 'to keep the market people dry in time of foul weather'. Indeed, until very recently it continued to be legitimately used by an antique and bric a brac trader - but no more. I'm told that the Town Council have forbidden it to be used for the very purpose it was designed in order for visitors to the town to be able to take nicer photos of it. If this is true, then I despair!

I thought the least that I could to was to duly take a photograph of it!
