Colonial feel

Colonial - or the English riviera? There seem to be several lovely old buildings with verandas and palms here in Sidmouth. I took a walk around after we had had a day out in Beer, our favourite haunt!
The sun shone on the beach and it was very hot! And then, as we climbed up the slipway, black clouds were gathering and it began to rain!
None of this was forecast for today!
But the rain soon dried up and it has been a warm, calm evening here by the sea.
