Talyllyn Country

Our last full day here this visit.  Jamie continued his education in the booking office while I bimbled around doing odd jobs.  We'll take plenty of clean laundry home with us .... and loads of blackberries :-)

This afternoon I took the train to Cynfal, a 'halt' not far from Rhydyronen, for so long our base on visits here.  The railway has a number of these halts, places where the train used to stop to pick up folk from nearby farms.  Today some of these farms have converted buildings for holiday cottages and the halts are back in use again.  Cynfal is the only one with  a proper platform even if it is only half a carriage long!

Today's view is from Cynfal bridge, taken before I walked the lanes over to Rhydyronen, gathering blackberries along the way.

Extra pics of a nice piece of camouflage and a super cyclamen in the garden behind the hostel.  Once owned by a keen plantsman, the garden still retains one or two special plants.
