Goethe Memorial

...in Herrngarten Park, Darmstadt, by Ludwig Habich (1872-1949), a native artist who became nationwide renowned as a sculptor. Goethe, commemorated on the plaque below the statue, was a frequent visitor to Darmstadt in his young age, while he lived in his birthplace Frankfurt, only 18 odd miles away.
