Pot of Gold

A beautiful day today, so we drove to St Andrews to walk along East Sands. It was sunny and cold at first - perfect walking weather - but a threatening black cloud was lurking just inland.

As we walked back to the car, the rainstorm hit us, but created this perfect double rainbow. At first, the end of the rainbow landed right on the beach, at the water's edge. We weren't quite quick enough with our buckets and spades so didn't manage to dig for the pot of the gold.

Instead, we sat in the car watching the dark cloud move away from us, taking the rainbow with it, until it was just landing on the very horizon. I've never watched a rainbow travel in that way before, and it was mesmerising.
