A manic day at Donna Nook Lincolnshire

It was a fabulous day-weatherwise- and to show I have got the blipping bug 'real bad' I was out of the house at dawn to take photos! But I am not using any of those as I spent most of the day with the Atlantic Seals at Donna Nook shepherding the crowds who came to see the seals. And crowds there were. About 4,500 people turned up today. All with cameras - goodness knows how many millions of photos get taken during the 10 week season when the seals come ashore to pup. Or maybe the seals come ashore to watch all the people who only come in such numbers during November and December! Anyway a good time was had by all and nobody lost any fingers trying to stroke a seal. Lots of Brent geese, turnstones, lapwings, blackbacked gulls, twite, pinkfooted geese, oystercatchers - all missing out on attention as people focussed on the seals and especially pretty pups.
