Pond Life

Thought I,d share this spot of urban nature its a reclaimed reservoir.
Its called Platts Lodge and was built before 1848. The redundant Cast Iron columns were bridge supports for the long go railway line to Manchester.
Platts manufactured machinery to manufacture textile,s in 1879 it reached its peak.
By 1896 it faced fearce competion from another local company Howard & Bulloughs. In later years both firms combined.
