My Year in Pictures

Day Four: France 2018

Backblipped 8th Sept

Grabbed an early brekkie from a small café and then headed up the shop to get our bikes and meet our guide.

Electric bikes really are quite amazing – took quite a bit of getting used to (and I haven’t ridden even a normal bike for 2 years!) and you do still have to pedal, but goodness it makes it possible to do things you’d never be able to do on a normal bike! And of course see so much more of the area than if you were walking!

Had an amazing tour of the surrounding valley with our guide and one other couple – a bit hairy in some places and my heart was definitely racing not just with exertion at some spots! I also had a bit of a stumble which resulted in an enormous bruise from where the pedal jabbed into my thigh – nice!

Was completely rubbish with taking photos today (one of those “I do hope there is something on my phone to blip for today” moments!), however this was the view when we were at the highest point in the valley looking back down – a couple more views in extras. And from here it was downhill the whole way back!

James did it in record speed – I couldn’t see him for dust – however I was a bit more sedate!

It really was the most fabulous morning – and so fabulous that we decided to book the bikes for the whole of the following day and do some exploring ourselves!!

Lunch and a delicious ice cream at the same café as brekkie and back up to the hotel to have some much needed relaxation in the spa!

Wine and nibbles were had in the sunshine on the hillside above our hotel before a picnic in our room for dinner! (view from our room at lunchtime in extras).

Travel log:
None in the car however out for 3 hours on the bike covering 28km.
