F is for . . .

‘Focus stacking’ to be truthful, but also ‘frog’.

I tried out ‘Affinity Photo’ today.  I was not unimpressed by any means, except that for the average amateur photographer it’s akin to the fully fledged Photoshop rather than Elements, and just as complex to use.  Most of that is familiarisation of course.

One thing I am interested in is ‘focus stacking’ which elements does not do – you have to bodge it in ‘Photomerge exposure’ stacking which does not compensate for the difference in size of image.

Froggy here was the result of a five shot stack in Affinity using ‘Focus Merge’.  This could not have been easier.  It did take about five or ten minutes on the desktop (she’s getting old you know) but on the laptop it was not much more than just seconds to do the same job.

I’m also looking into Elements+ to unleash the hidden bits in  Photoshop Elements, but the demo version didn’t work so I’m just wondering what to do next.

Why are Saturday’s so silly . . . ?? Thanks Admirer . . .
