8 day old dolphin calf!

Fantastic first day. I went out to the point first thing and didn't have to wait too long to see dolphins. Before their arrival there were plenty of seals and seabirds to keep me entertained. A short mooch around Fortrose and Rosemarkie, including the Groam Museum which I have never been in before despite my many trips to this area.
Then onto Inverness where we had a boat trip on the RIB "Mischief" with Dolphin Spirit. First sighting was of the dolphin Kesslet and her very new baby who was only born 8 days ago (last Saturday). Lovely to see them resting by the bouy, looked like they were having a well derserved snooze. The skipper then left the pair in peace whilst we headed further ocean bound. No more dolphins but plenty of seals (extra), a few gannets, gulls and terns (terns extra).
Having heard online there is a Hoopoe bird up in Cromarty we are hoping to head there in the morning to catch a sight of this unusual bird. We had hoped to fit it in this evening but were back to late to be there and back before dark.
