Byron’s grotto

Today we got the train and bus to Portovenere, which was really pretty. We found out that this is where Byron used to swim.
We watched some people getting out of the sea, and as it often is the world over, it’s not a very dignified affair, on all fours with bums in the air, but at least here they’re nicely tanned bums.
