What have we here?
We have "Proper" Chips - Pommes - Fries.
I think every restaurant here gets chips from the deep freeze.
And that would never do. Not after receiving this in the post.
Good Heavens No.
So, I peeled potatoes, chipped them, parboiled them for 15 minutes (from cold water), let them drain and then introduced them to the world of the deep fryer. Let them drain on kitchen roll and then sprinkle with a bit of salt.
I do not think I have eaten better chips.
And because haddock does not swim up the Rhein, we had a very old fashioned dinner of Fishfingers*, Peas & Chips.
And Chippy Sauce.
* Fischstäbchen here. And Cap'n Birdseye is Cap'n Iglu. It's no wonder they can't make proper chips. :-)
