Thank You For the Days ..

I got a day off for good behaviour, and made straight for the V&A to see the Frida Kahlo exhibition.   There were some amazing items - a wooden leg, complete with red leather lace-up boot was perhaps the most bizarre.  Or maybe the plaster corsets, painted by Frida herself.

She was an amazing woman, who overcame many physical horrors in the course of her short life, and she painted some very vivid pictures - mainly self-portraits.

The main focus of the exhibition was a collection of her dresses - variations on Mexican folk costumes, all highly decorated and brightly coloured.

Afterwards I had lunch in the courtyard, which was looking quite exotic, I thought, with its large display of flowers done up to mimic the way Frida wore flowers in her hair.

Thanks to Ellaphant for hosting Mono Monday this month.
