Reeds and Reflections

Mosquito Lakes - aptly named, but the bugs are not so bad at this time of year. It is just off highway four over the top of Ebbetts Pass on the way from Arnold to Lake Tahoe via the mountain route that normally is closed from October through May/June, even as long as July in a big snow year.

Mosquito Lake is tucked away in a valley area and exhibits a lot of beauty, including a few cabins scattered around that can only be accessed via snowmobile or hiking in for much of the year. A nice 45 minute drive from our home in Arnold, and beautiful the entire route, past Lake Alpine that is as low water level as we have seen in recent years - definitely needing a big winter rain/snowpack.
