Heroes At Highclere

A most enjoyable day spent with Blippers at Highclere. The event was sponsored by the UK Sepsis Trust, to help raise awareness of this terrible life-threatening condition.

Every 3.5 seconds, someone in the world dies of sepsis. In the UK alone, 44,000 people lose their lives to sepsis every year. This is more than breast, bowel and prostate cancer combined. Globally, sepsis claims 6 million lives a year. Yet with early diagnosis it is easily treatable.

I must be honest, I had no idea that it was such a huge problem, either in  this country or indeed worldwide.

I hadn't realised that the Red Arrows would be there, so it was an added bonus to see them again.
