Island Queen

15.5C and mostly bright with some squally showers. W/WSW wind to 23 mph with gusts to 43 mph.

Apothecary7's day off.

A decent weather forecast prompted Apothecary7's request to try the Tayinloan to Points Sands walk and have lunch where Fergus and I got to last Thursday.

We got my car and I drove us to Tayinloan. There was some rain on the way and the sky didn't look anything like that predicted by the weather forecast. We set off on our walk just as the noon ferry was setting off for Gigha.

We walked along the beach to see the wreck of the Island Queen, then carried on walking right along the beach and round the bay at Point Sands holiday (caravan) park. The rain clouds had blown over and there were some patches of blue sky coming in over Gigha. There was a fairly strong breeze and the sea was much more active than last Thursday. The beach round by Point Sands had a lot of seaweed but there was still plenty of clear sand to walk on. We had our lunch in the same spot Fergus and I used last week. I brought some more flat stones off the beach to make another seat beside the one I had last time.

Heavier clouds started to appear behind Gigha, so we set off back along the beach. We did get caught in some rain but the breeze was drying us almost as soon as a shower was past. There were more pieces of broken pottery today. Definitely washed up since I was there last time.

Later Apothecary7 was painting. Van Morrison's music was accompanying the painting.
Fergus was snoozing.
