Postcards from Bayern

Another day, another tour. Chiemsee this time, meeting up with Vroni and Elke for the ferry across to Herrenchiemsee. The third of Ludwig's castles, it was planned as a near replica of Versailles but the money and Ludwig's luck both ran out. Then we ferried onward to Fraueninsel for lunch and a wander around, do-able because the schools are all back now and the crowds are much smaller. And a small detour on the way home took us to Benediktbeuern for a brief catch-up with Liane. Whew!
