A splash of Colour .....

On a rather dull day .
Lots of household jobs completed although we haven’t caught up with the garden yet.
I finished a book which I had chosen to read whilst in Norway - it was harrowing but very revealing about Norwegian culture and politics- ‘One of Us :the story of Anders Breivik and the Massacre in Norway ‘ by Asne Seierstad ( she wrote the ‘Bookseller of Kabul’ ) . Everything was researched from witnesses , survivors , parents of some of those murdered as well as directly from records by social services and psychologists when Anders was a boy . I hadn’t realised the mistakes the Norwegian authorities made in responding to the incident or how he had duped the guards to get on to the island . It was written as a story so you meet some of the victims early in the book and learn about their childhood and development before the fatal camp . I really recommend it as it helps explain what brought a man to conduct such a heinous crime . It was very, very moving and a film is being released based on it later this year.
