RW's Daily Exposures

Male Nuttalls Woodpecker

A fairly common visitor to McClellan Ranch. He worked on this one spot on the tree for nearly half-an-hour.

It really turned to Fall today - temps in the 60s (80s yesterday), windy and cloudy. All the birds were acting differently. This one was pecking a hole to store acorns is my thought. He felt the cold coming and decided to get busy on his stash before it was too late.

Enjoy!

Extra is a shot of the waxing crescent moon.
