Parliamentary session

Attended a workshop in the Scottish Parliament today. Going to the building is always a treat.

Famously it was completed way over time and way, way over budget. Given that we only build a parliament every 300 years or so, we were somewhat out of practice!

I think it a stunning building with some brilliant spaces. We were in the main lobby with its low concrete ceilings etched with crosses. The ceilings feel incredibly heavy and seem to be held up by small pillars - both the gravitas and fragility of democracy.

The quality of the building reflects our high expectations of the quality of work there. To be fair, sometimes we get it. Oftentimes, we do not.
