A lovely sunny day so I wet to Kew Gardens, (the trains ran just about on time although there was supposed to be a strike day). I went in the water lily house and the Princess Pavilion, before finding a nice sunny bench for my picnic and a bit of a read of my current book. Next I went into Kew Palace and kitchen, both were interesting, and the smells took me back to my childhood.  George III was quite a character, with so many children. Tea opportunities were all quite crowded, so I filled up my water bottle and walked back into Richmond. I bought a lazy dinner, including rhubarb pie which was reduced, and just made it back to the station for my return journey. A little bit foot sore but at least I got a seat on the train.
