Dereliction on Horsey Island

Just off Braunton Marsh is Horsey Island. Part of the South West Coast path runs along its edge. Some time back the Island defences were  breached. The Winter high tides continued to wear down the defences and threatened Braunton Marsh. At last it would appear that some progress has been made at the expense of the Island to repair and reinforce the sluice gates for the Marsh. The furthest building you can see had seawater up to the top of the side walls, after a 10m tide. a week ago.
