Conkers

I can remember having conker fights at school, threading the conkers onto string and taking them into school. How times have changed as I think conkers are banned from many schools and worse than that the word 'conker' along with about 40 words from the natural world have been left out of the Junior Oxford dictionary. How shameful is that?
These conkers were blown down near me this morning as we had a very strong wind.
