Cyclamen graecum

Very similar to the widely grown Cyclamen hederifolium, Cyclamen graecum needs heat to flower well and is not easy to place in the garden.  I grow it in the leanest of my raised beds in full sun.  No surprise that they are doing well this year.  The tubers, near the surface, get baked.  Thick fleshy roots delve deep below with finer, feeding roots picking up a little moisture at depth, even in a hot year like this.

A very busy day.  Out for Jamie's violin lesson and again all afternoon for a meet with his school mentor and another student.  Less than an hour at home then I was off into deepest Suffolk to give a gardening talk.  Talk was very well received but yet again I was diverted by a road closure on my way home!
