Dread Lock

On our monthly lunch date with friends, it was their turn to choose the venue. "We've chosen somewhere photogenic for your photo!" they said. What great friends!
The place they chose was "The Anchor" at Pyrford Lock on the Wey Navigation. There was no boating on the canal today so the lock hadn't been used. It was covered with a carpet of leaves so that it hardly looked like water. A road crosses the canal here on a very narrow bridge which is just wide enough for a car. Part of the enjoyment of the meal is watching the faces of lorry drivers and white van men who have trusted their sat navs rather than the road signs and find they have to reverse and retrace their route. I was the duty driver today who had to negotiate the bridge on the way home. No scratches I am pleased to report!
