The Man Who Broke The Bank at Monte Carlo

Well, it certainly wasn't me!!

We had a long day today visiting Monaco. When we arrived the first thing we did was head to the Cafe de Paris for a cup of coffee and celebrity spotting. The only person we saw who we knew was Ken Bates, owner of Leeds United.

Then walked around the harbour on the route of the Formula 1 Grand Prix, followed by a trip into the old town for lunch. Much more reasonable than the glitzy casino area.

We had a look at the Cathedral with a magnificent organ, and the Royal Palace. There were lots of police and high stepping guards, as they were expecting dignitaries...not sure who. When they arrived, in blacked out cars, they whizzed by and we were no wiser.

Finished up with a trip to the Casino Monte Carlo, as in the BLIP. Fabulous building, but, as neither of us had ever been in a casino before we just watched for half an hour, before leaving with our wallets intact.

Monaco....well worth a visit.
