The Lake District is a convenient stopover for Scottish friends on their way South. Friend K is helping her daughter drive to Southampton where she is going to spend a year doing a Master's in Oceanography. Quite a the change for the lass from Aberdeen. They took us to the pub for a meal. Clara is drinking saffron gin. It was very bitter, we wondered if you should drink it lemonade.
